BMWs are popular collectibles for those who love classic cars. The following are a few examples of rare, classic BMWs that are prized by collectors.

1. The BMW Isetta was produced between 1955 and 1962, inspired primarily by the need for the company to produce a car that was cheaper to manufacture. Due to lagging sales of its luxury models, BMW looked to add a “bubble” car to its line with the Isetta. BMW licensed the design of the Isetta from Milan-based company Iso, making several modifications. Today, these cars would be valued at between $40,000 and $50,000.

2. Produced between 1971 and 1975, the BMW 3.0 CSL was BMW Motorsport’s very first racer. Nicknamed the “Batmobile” for its aerodynamic racing features and lightweight body design, it had between 180 and 206 horsepower. In today’s market the BMW 3.0 CSL has a value of between $200,000 and $250,000.

3. The BMW 328 Roadster produced between 1936 and 1940 was a top 25 finalist for Car of the Century, and is valued at between $600,000 and $700,000 dollars on the current market. Of the nearly 464 units that were originally produced, fewer than half are still surviving. Of those that remain, around 120 are located in Germany.
